Achievement scholarship

Achievements Scholarship
I have not achieved very many academic awards. However, I have achieved awards for things that are very important to me. In tenth grade I made captain for the Resurrection Christian High School junior varsity volleyball team. That in itself was a great accomplishment, and was truly amazing. At the end of the season I was given the Sacrifice award, and the Leadership award. I always pushed my team to be the best that they could be, and I was one of the only people constantly willing to sacrifice my body for the good of the game.
Honor roll is also an achievement that shows drive and ambition. I have been on honor roll every year for as long as I can remember. I also know where I want to go to college, what I want to study, and what I want to do with my life after I graduate. I want to major in literature, and English liberal arts so that I can become a writer. I want to be able to change people’s lives with the written word the way that it changed mine.
I am always respectful to those around me, and I try to always respect my family even when it is difficult. I always try to be someone that they can rely on. My family is all I have, and they are the most important thing in my life. We drive each other crazy, but we love each other, and they are all I have. Without them I am nothing, and I have nothing.

Alert Scholarship Essay

Alert Scholarship
My sophomore year of high school I was really good friends with this girl named Cassie. She was my best friend, and my sister. We were that close. Our parents used to say that we were twins that had been separated at birth, or that we should be joined at the hip. At the beginning of tenth grade we became friends with two boys who were new at our school; Dan and Andrew. The four of us did almost everything together.
Throughout that year Cassie became very rebellious. She would sneak out of her house at night to go drink with Dan and hang out. This made Andrew and I very uncomfortable. By the end of the year, it was like Cassie was a completely different person because of her behavior.  Then, over the summer, Cass decided to try pot, and she got hooked on it. I didn’t know what to do so I went to her dad. As far as I know he grounded her from everything for a very long time. He also told me that it explained why his daughter seemed to have had a complete personality change, that I did the right thing, and he thanked me for looking out for her. After that Cassie and Dan wouldn’t talk to me, and were furious with me for being a “snitch”.
I think that the situation was dealt with correctly. Going to a person’s parents with things like this is always the right thing to do if you are looking out for their well-being. One thing that I learned from this is how to stand up for myself, and the way I was raised, and for what I believe in. also, that no matter what, we have to do the right thing, even if that means making an unpopular decision. This experience taught me that it is better to have people hate me for caring about them, and looking out for them, than it is to have them love me and throw their lives in the gutter. So remember, always do the right thing, because in the long run they will thank you for it.
